The size of the problem of animal homelessness in our country is enormous: many pets lose their owners or don’t have any from the beginning. We would like to encourage you to adopt the wonderful pets that we had the pleasure to scratch behind the ear and pet in the shelter in Wrocław.
The homelessness of animals, just as with humans, means loneliness, rejection, and often fear and disease. The lack of social awareness of pets and free-living animals, unfortunately, doesn’t help us in bringing real help to them.
Despite the easily accessible information all over the internet and other media, and facts supported by specialist research, unfortunately we can still observe the ubiquitous ignorance and archaic views on the issue of castration, treatment and letting animals walk alone in the neighborhood. The latter is a huge problem when the pets are not castrated: driven by their instincts, they reproduce, in result increasing the population of homeless and often sick animals, which have no chance to have a normal, painless and dignified life without human help.
The domestication of animals is the hereditary adaptation of wild creatures to the man-made environment over hundreds (or even thousands) of years and the process is not reversible. Domesticated animals (free-living) are not wild like lynx or wolves, which is why they need care and support so much. They are simply dependent on us, for which we should take responsibility and provide them with the best possible life conditions - hand to hand, paw to paw!
That’s why it’s crucial to educate and support institutions that, working non-stop, provide for the pets in need and help them find loving and responsible homes, so that they can become and forever stay furry balls of happiness.
We do our best to visit and support the mentioned TOZ shelter as often as possible. While at it, we also provide good-quality canned food for pets, the necessary textiles and toys.

We fully agree with the statement of Mrs. Dorota:
„As long as there is at least one dog or cat in the shelter, we are not allowed to buy or breed animals”.

See the wonderful, hairy friends we have met - they badly need some human warmth and a bit of time. In return they can offer unlimited endorphins, a lot of unconditional love and many unforgettable moments. Don’t let them wait for you for too long- friendship doesn’t need a pedigree!
If you are interested in adoption, please contact the shelter and send a completed pre-adoption questionnaire:
at the following email address biuro@schroniskowroclaw.pl.
The questionnaire can also be submitted in person at the Shelter’s Adoption Office at: Ślazowa 2, 51-007 Wrocław
